Hotel and Build Site Information

We will be building in the area of San Rafael Del Sur Nicaragua:

Within this community, more than 95 percent of all homes have dirt floors with walls constructed mostly of rapidly deteriorating materials. In addition to inadequate structures, this community lacks a sanitary source of drinking water as most latrines quickly deteriorate and communal wells are not completely sanitary. With average per capita income around US$1/day, this community is in great need.


Each house will have a mason on hand, and we will be working in partnership with the future homeowner family, as well as other volunteers.

We will aid in whatever work is needed. Some tasks include digging foundations, laying block, mixing mortar, moving materials or cutting and tying rebar. The work may appear tedious or repetitive, but all of it is necessary for the completion of the house. It normally takes two to three full weeks to complete a Habitat house in San Rafael del Sur.
